The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for the overall management, coordination, and execution of the programs, operations, and strategic objectives of the Lake Victoria Tourism Association (LVTA).
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide overall administrative and operational leadership for the association.
- Implement the policies, resolutions, and strategic decisions of the Executive Committee and Board.
- Coordinate daily operations and ensure effective management of LVTA activities and programs.
- Represent LVTA in official engagements with government agencies, development partners, tourism stakeholders, and the private sector.
- Promote and market the Lake Victoria tourism circuit locally, regionally, and internationally.
- Lead stakeholder engagement, partnership development, and resource mobilization initiatives.
- Oversee planning and execution of tourism events, exhibitions, conferences, and CSR activities.
- Supervise staff, committees, and departmental operations to ensure efficiency and accountability.
- Coordinate membership development and stakeholder relations within the association.
- Ensure effective communication, branding, and visibility of LVTA initiatives and achievements.
- Prepare and present operational reports, strategic plans, and organizational updates to the Executive Committee and Board.
- Promote sustainable tourism practices, environmental conservation, and community empowerment initiatives.
- Strengthen collaborations within the Lake Victoria Economic Bloc and other tourism networks.
- Ensure prudent management of organizational resources and compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
