The Vice Chairperson supports the Chairperson in providing leadership and strategic direction to the Lake Victoria Tourism Association (LVTA) and plays a key role in ensuring the smooth coordination of the association’s activities and stakeholder engagements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Chairperson in overseeing the affairs and operations of the association.
- Act on behalf of the Chairperson in their absence during meetings, functions, and official engagements.
- Support the implementation of LVTA policies, programs, and strategic initiatives.
- Promote collaboration and unity among members and tourism stakeholders across the Lake Victoria region.
- Coordinate and support committee activities and organizational programs.
- Participate in stakeholder engagement, partnership building, and tourism advocacy initiatives.
- Support membership growth, stakeholder mobilization, and regional representation.
- Assist in organizing meetings, conferences, exhibitions, and tourism events.
- Promote sustainable tourism practices and community participation in tourism development.
- Work closely with the executive committee to strengthen governance, accountability, and service delivery within the association.
- Represent LVTA in various forums and tourism-related engagements as delegated by the Chairperson.
