The Assistant Treasurer supports the Treasurer in managing the financial affairs of the Lake Victoria Tourism Association (LVTA) and helps ensure accountability, transparency, and proper financial management within the association.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Treasurer in managing and monitoring the financial operations of the association.
- Support the collection, recording, and banking of membership fees and other revenues.
- Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and transaction documentation.
- Support the preparation of financial reports, statements, and budget estimates.
- Help monitor expenditure and ensure proper use of organizational funds in line with approved budgets.
- Assist in maintaining accountability and compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Support audit processes and financial verification activities when required.
- Act on behalf of the Treasurer in their absence.
- Assist in resource mobilization and fundraising initiatives for the association.
- Ensure proper filing and safe custody of financial documents and records.
- Work closely with the Executive Committee and Secretariat on financial planning and operational support.
- Promote transparency, efficiency, and professionalism in financial management.
The Assistant Treasurer plays an important role in supporting sound financial management and ensuring the smooth coordination of LVTA’s financial activities and responsibilities.
